What to Do Before Your Trip:
- Don’t forget to bring cell phone and tablet chargers. A mobile charger may be handy while you are on-the-go and in vehicles.
- Contact the US Postal Service and place a stop on your mail service. Do the same with the newspaper if you have home delivery.
- Hair dryers should be provided at hotels and onboard cruise ships.
- If you have a converter available, you may wish to pack it for multiple electronic devices, curling irons, etc.
- Passports require at least 6 months’ validity from the end of your trip, and you must have at least two blank passport pages (some countries require four). Scan or take a picture of passports and email to yourself for easy access in the event of loss.
- Check in for your flights online 24 hours prior to flight departure time.
- Take a picture of your checked bag before you leave home. If your bag goes astray, a picture will help the airline agent write up a description.
- Call your credit card companies and provide them with an out-of-town notice.
- If not using a data plan, turn the Roaming Feature on your cell phone off. Leaving Roaming or Data downloading active could cost you a lot of money outside of your phone carrier’s network coverage area.
